Network Troubleshooter
The Network
Troubleshooter tools enables you to check the connection between your
website
and your local computer.Network
Troubleshooter performs a Traceroute between your website on our server
and your current location.
When you view
a site over the Internet, your connection to that site has traveled through
several hosts before finally reaching the destination server.If
a problem exists at any one of these hosts along the way, a successful
connection to that site may not be possible.
Traceroute
is a tool that returns a list of connecting hosts that your packets traveled
through on the way a the site's server.This
tool becomes an invaluable instrument if you are not able to connect to
your site.Traceroute
will indicate if the problem with the connection lies with your ISP, the
servers, or somewhere in between.Traceroute
can also be used to uncover any bottlenecks between you and the server
that may be causing your pages to load slowly.
Traceroute
can be run from many locations throughout the world using a service called
Tracert.If you use the Tracert service and have a Cedant or Cedant XL plan,
use the IP address 66.226.64.2. For
Premier and Premier EXL plans, use the IP address that you see on the left-hand
side of your control panel.
Note:This
is an advanced troubleshooting tool that most people would never have
a need for, but it is provided it in case anyone wants to use it.
